Converting (existing Fixtures) to LED
Converting existing fixtures to LED is our specialty. Throughout the years, Led-e-Lux has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge about LEDs and the housing of the LED. Therefore, we can develop both quickly and thoroughly. For the transition of LED, two factors are very important, the reflector and thus the light display, but also the heat emission. Existing fixtures are often not designed to cool LEDs. Fortunately, many existing fixtures are made of a cast aluminum. Aluminum is a very good basis for the conversion to LED technology. This is because aluminum is a great conductor for heat.
The possibility of transferring the heat from the LED to the housing is essential for the success rate of a conversion project. After all, an LED should not get hot. For this reason, we design a LED carrier that has two basic functions, heat transfer and holder of the LED.
Several projects have already been successfully implemented. We have converted large industrial lamps to 120W LED for use in a production area. These fixtures are estimated to be 50 years old and were blasted and carefully polished by Led-e-Lux to bring them back to a like-new condition. However, the design was unchanged which created a very nice combination between modern and rustic.
In 2019, a project in Finland was realized with the conversion of halogen BEGA luminaires. The conversion of the luminaires is economically more favorable than new luminaires. After all, the housing of the LED was still in excellent condition.
