Bridges are no longer seen only as functional objects. They are increasingly seen as a work of art. Bridge illumination can make a major contribution to this. Bridge designs are often equipped with LED in the bridge railing. In addition, it also ensures the safety of the user. We have a lot of experience in executing this combination.
Additional factors to consider
A major disadvantage of LED strips is that they cannot work in the longitudinal direction of a bridge. It sounds strange, but the expansion of a bridge is visible. So the bridge gets longer in the summer and shorter in the winter. Engineers take this into account when designing the bridge, but the led strip must also be able to work with the seasonal expansion. Standard led strips have lengths of 5 meters and are too long. This is because the expansion of the led strip is not equal to the expansion of the bridge. So, they are not suitable to apply in the railing of the bridge.
Our solution to the expansion is to create custom bridge lighting. Every bridge has its own factors to consider. Sometimes an architect chooses a continuous line and sometimes a line with regular interruptions.
There are several options for waterproofing the fixtures. One of the possibilities is potting the fixtures. We can do this in-house with our own potting machine. Another possibility is to make a separate waterproof IP66 fixture. The entire fixture is then weatherproof and can be mounted as such.
Often the client stipulates the condition that the lighting must be maintained. It is then important that the LED fixtures can be easily exchanged, should they fail unexpectedly. For this we have developed a click system. This click system consists of a fixed profile and a separate luminaire. The fixture clicks into this fixed profile and forms a whole. Easy during installation, but especially practical when maintenance or service is required.
